ITEC is an ISTE affilate who promotes the use of technology in education by demonstrating to its members, other educators and the public developments in the use of educational technology and how its use supports teaching and learning. The ITEC Conference is October 12-14, 2014. It will be held at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, IA. The conference is open to all educators and administrators in Iowa and beyond.

Looking for ways to engage and inspire your students to solve real world problems utilizing creativity, collaboration and problem solving?  With fun and self-fulfillment as a catalyst, the Makers Movement is a fast-growing, global community focused on learning and using practical skills and applying them in a creative manner.  Emphasizing student-led, informal and shared learning, Making offers individuals a chance to problem solve in a participatory approach and create new concepts that make learning come alive.   Join the Science Center of Iowa’s Education team to learn about the evolution of the Makers Movement, how to create a Makers Space in your classroom and inspire the maker mindset in your students.
